Shovelnose Grenadier [Caelorinchus scaphopsis]
Description
The Shovelnose Grenadier, or Caelorinchus scaphopsis, is a species of rattail and is found in the Southern Ocean. It is identified by its shovel-like snout and a thick body that tapers to a thin tail. It generally lives at depths between 200 and 1,000 meters and feeds on small fish and invertebrates.
