Short Sea Pen [Funiculina brevis]

Description
The Short Sea Pen, or Funiculina brevis, is a smaller species of sea pen that typically grows to about 20 centimeters in length. It has a similar morphology to the Tall Sea Pen, with a flexible stem and a branching upper part. The Short Sea Pen is found in the Pacific Ocean, on soft, sandy, or muddy bottoms at depths of 150 to 300 meters. It also displays bioluminescence and retracts into the sediment when threatened.
