Description
Scaphander lignarius, commonly known as the Shelled Pteropod, is a species of sea snail. It can be found in deep, muddy substrates from the Eastern Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. It possesses a large, thick shell that can reach up to 30 mm, and is distinguished by its round shape and brown color. Its habitat includes muddy sea bottoms where it burrows to feed, primarily on foraminiferans.
