Sandwich Tern [Thalasseus sandvicensis]
Description
The Sandwich Tern is a seabird of the family Laridae. It is a medium-large tern with grey upperparts, white underparts, a yellow-tipped black bill and a shaggy black crest which becomes less extensive in winter with a white crown. Youth resembles non-breeding adults, differing in the bill color. It breeds in scattered locations across the world including the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean.
