Description
The Round Herring, also known as the Red-eye Round Herring, is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Etrumeus. It is known to inhabit tropical and sub-tropical waters throughout the world, particularly in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. It feeds primarily on plankton and small fishes. It is distinguished by its elongated, cylindrical body, silvery color, and the characteristic red eye.
