Description

The Roughtail Stingray, also known as the Roughtail Ray, is a species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae. It can be found in the open ocean, often at depths of several hundred meters, and is known for its distinctive rough, thorny skin. This species is one of the largest stingrays, reaching lengths of up to 7 feet. It is characterized by a diamond-shaped pectoral fin disk, a long whip-like tail, and a row of small thorns along the middle of the back and tail.
