Rough Grenadier [Macrourus carinatus]
Description
The Rough Grenadier is a species of rattail fish that is found in the southwest Pacific Ocean, specifically around New Zealand. It lives at depths of between 800 and 1,200 meters. Like other members of its genus, it has a large head and eyes, and a long tapering body. It is distinguished by its rough skin, hence the common name.
