Ring-eyed Cardinalfish [Ostorhinchus cyclopterus]
Description
The Ring-eyed Cardinalfish, also known as the Ostorhinchus cyclopterus, is a small species that typically grows to around 10 cm in length. It can be identified by its large eyes that are encircled by a distinctive gold ring. This species is nocturnal and can be found hiding amongst coral and rocks during the day. It inhabits tropical marine environments in the Indo-Pacific region, often in shallow lagoons and reef areas.
