Description
The red batfish, or Darwin's batfish, is a species of batfish in the family Ogcocephalidae. They inhabit the Eastern Pacific from the Gulf of California to Northern Peru. They are a benthic species, usually found on sandy or muddy substrates, often associated with reefs. This species is characterized by its red color and unique shape, resembling a bat in flight.
