Description
Raja oxyrinchus, commonly known as the Pointed Skate, is a species of ray in the family Rajidae. It is found in the Northeast Atlantic, from the British Isles to South Morocco and the Canary Islands, and in the Mediterranean Sea. The species prefers a habitat of soft bottoms from the coastal zone to the upper continental slope. It is distinguished by a long, pointed snout and a greyish-brown body, with a pattern of light and dark spots.
