Pale-billed Sicklebill [Epimachus bruijnii]
Description
The Pale-billed Sicklebill, or Bruijn's Sicklebill, is a bird-of-paradise found in the lowland and hill forests of New Guinea. Males have black and iridescent blue plumage with a distinct pale, curved bill, while females have brown plumage. Males are known to perform a 'hop-step' dance during courtship displays. Despite its somewhat limited range, the species has a stable population and is not currently considered threatened.
