Pacific Tusk Shell [Siphonodentalium vallicolens]

Description
The Pacific Tusk Shell is found in the North Pacific Ocean. This species inhabits sandy and muddy substrates, often burrowing its elongated, curved shell into the substrate with only the siphon exposed to filter feed on organic particles. It has a smooth, tusk-like shell that varies in color from white to pale brown.
