Description
Serpula vermicularis, commonly known as the Orange Trumpet Worm, is a sessile marine polychaete worm in the family Serpulidae. It has a calcareous tube, which is characterized by a red and orange color. The worm uses its crown of feathery tentacles to filter plankton and other organic materials from the water for food. It inhabits crevices and under stones in shallow water in the Atlantic Ocean.
