Occidental tube worm [Pseudovermilia occidentalis]

Description
The Occidental tube worm, scientifically known as Pseudovermilia occidentalis, is a marine species that belongs to the family Serpulidae. These tube worms are typically found in warm, tropical water bodies and are known to inhabit the Pacific Ocean, particularly near the west coast of America, hence their name. They create calcareous tubes on hard substrates where they reside. They are sessile, filter-feeding organisms that extend their feather-like tentacles to capture plankton and other small particles from the water.
