Description
The New Zealand False Limpet, scientifically known as Maoricrypta costata, is a species of sea snail. It is characterized by its small size, typically not exceeding 12 mm. The shell is ovate, equivalve, and nearly equilateral. The exterior of the shell is whitish, often stained with yellow or brown, and is sculptured with numerous fine radial ribs. It is found on the coasts of New Zealand, usually attached to rocks in the intertidal zone.
