Narwhal [Monodon monoceros]
Description
The narwhal is a medium-sized toothed whale that is only found in Arctic waters. It is known for its long, helical tusk, which is actually a protruding canine tooth. Males most commonly have tusks, and some may even have two. They feed on fish, squid, and shrimp. Narwhals travel in groups and are known for their deep dives, reaching depths of up to 1,500 meters.
