Mermaid's Glove Sponge [Sycon ciliatum]

Description
Sycon ciliatum, commonly known as the Mermaid's Glove Sponge, is a marine filter-feeding sponge. It is typically found in shallow waters attached to rocks or other hard substrates. The sponge is cylindrical in shape with a rounded tip and can reach up to 15 cm in height. It has a white to light brown color and is covered in small, hair-like cilia which it uses to filter food particles out of the water.
