Description
The Lesser Crested Tern is a seabird of the family Laridae that breeds in subtropical coastal parts of the world mainly from the Red Sea across the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific, and Australia, with a significant population in the Persian Gulf. Distinguished by its yellow-orange bill and a shaggy black crest, this species feeds on fish and small marine invertebrates. The Lesser Crested Tern is known for its powerful, direct flight.
