Inshore Lizardfish [Syacium micrurum]
Description
Also known as the short-tailed tonguefish, this species lives in shallow coastal waters and estuaries. It has a long, slender body, with a short tail, hence the name. It's found in the western Atlantic Ocean, from North Carolina to Brazil, and can reach a length of 18cm.
