Inshore Hagfish [Eptatretus burgeri]
Description
The Inshore Hagfish is found in the northwestern Pacific Ocean off the coasts of Japan, Korea, and China. It prefers soft, muddy bottoms at depths of 20 to 150 meters. It is distinguishable by its pinkish color. Like other hagfish, it secretes a sticky slime when disturbed.
