Gulf Thread Herring [Opisthonema bulleri]
Description
This species is found in the eastern Pacific from the Gulf of California to Peru. It lives in coastal waters and estuaries, often forming large schools. The Gulf Thread Herring is a small fish with a slender body, reaching a maximum length of about 30 cm. It feeds on plankton and small fishes.
