Description

Also known as the Swift Tern, it is a seabird in the family Laridae that nests in dense colonies on coastlines and islands. It is recognized by its yellow bill and a shaggy black crest on the back of the head. The Greater Crested Tern is a strong flier and feeds on fish and squid which are often captured by surface plunging.
