Description
The Glabrous Silk Scallop or Flexopecten glabrus is a marine bivalve species. It is native to the Northeast Atlantic Ocean, particularly around the British Isles. This scallop has a smooth, white to yellowish shell with a maximum size of about 50 mm. The Glabrous Silk Scallop is typically found in gravel or sandy substrates at depths up to 100 meters. It is a filter feeder, consuming plankton and other small organisms from the water column.
