Giant Ibis [Thaumatibis gigantea]
Description
The Giant Ibis is a large bird species that is not marine but rather found in the wetlands and forests of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. It is characterized by its dark grey-brown body, a naked head and neck with a thin line of feathers on the back of the neck. The Giant Ibis feeds on a variety of animals and insects, including crustaceans, snakes, frogs and large insects. It is the largest species in the ibis family and is critically endangered due to habitat loss and hunting.
