Freckled Skate [Malacoraja obscura]
Description
The Freckled Skate, also known as Malacoraja obscura, is found in the Southeast Pacific off the coast of Chile. It is a benthic species that inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms at depths between 100 and 1,000 meters. Distinguishing features include a short snout, small eyes, and a pale dorsal surface with small, dark freckles.
