Freckled Guitarfish [Rhinobatos lentiginosus]
Description
The Freckled Guitarfish is a species of ray in the Rhinobatidae family. It is endemic to the coastal waters of the southeastern United States. These fish have a flat, wide head and body with a long, slender tail. They are light brown to olive on top, with small, dark spots scattered on the upper body and fins. Freckled Guitarfish feed on small fish and invertebrates. They are typically found in shallow waters, often buried in sand or mud.
