Fragile File Clam [Lima lima]

Description
Also known as Lima Clam, this species is generally found in tropical waters. It has a shell with a maximum size of 7 cm, which is thin and fragile, hence its common name. The shell is white and mostly smooth with fine radial ridges. The Fragile File Clam is a bivalve mollusk that is often attached to rocks or other hard substrates by byssal threads. It is a filter feeder, feeding mainly on phytoplankton.
