Florida Horse Conch [Triplofusus giganteus]
Description
The Florida Horse Conch is a species of extremely large predatory subtropical and tropical sea snail. It is the largest gastropod in the American waters, and one of the largest univalves in the world. The species is native to the marine waters around Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. It has a striking orange body and a shell that is often yellowish with brown streaks.
