Eurasian Thaumaleus [Thaumaleus europaeus]

Description
This species of net-winged midge is found across Europe and parts of Asia. It is typically found in freshwater bodies, particularly rivers and streams. The larvae of Thaumaleus europaeus are aquatic and use their unique net-like wings to capture food particles from the water. The adults are terrestrial and are often seen flying near the water bodies where the larvae live.
