Elegant Tern [Thalasseus elegans]

Description
The Elegant Tern is a seabird of the family Laridae. Its habitat primarily consists of the Pacific coasts of the southern United States and Mexico. It is distinguished by its slender body, long, thin, orange bill and a shaggy crest. These birds feed on fish and invertebrates, and exhibit plunge-diving behavior. During breeding season, they gather in large colonies on sandy or shelly beaches.
