Delicate nut clam [Isolda pulchella]

Description
The Delicate nut clam, or Isolda pulchella, is another species from the family Pharidae. It is commonly found in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It thrives in fine sand and muddy substrates, often found at depths between 10 to 200 meters. The shell of the Delicate nut clam is thin, delicate, and semi-transparent with a white to pale yellow color. Like its relative, the Nordic nut clam, it is also a filter feeder.
