Description
The Delicate Lightfish is a deep-sea dwelling species found in the Western Atlantic Ocean, specifically around the Bahamas and the Gulf of Mexico. It is a smaller species, with a slender, elongated body that can reach up to 3.6 centimeters in length. It has a semi-transparent body with a silvery hue, and is equipped with photophores for bioluminescence. The species is known to inhabit depths of around 500 to 800 meters during the day, and migrates closer to the surface during the night to feed on smaller marine organisms.
