Crocodile Flathead [Cymbacephalus beauforti]
Description
The Crocodile Flathead, also known as De Beaufort's Flathead, is a marine species native to the Indo-Pacific region. It is predominantly found in shallow coastal waters and around coral reefs. This species has a long, flattened body and a distinctively shaped head resembling that of a crocodile, hence its common name. Its coloration varies from brown to gray with dark spots or blotches, which aid in camouflage against the seafloor. It is a carnivorous species, feeding primarily on small fish and crustaceans.
