Common Tube Worm [Lanice tubicola]

Description
The Common Tube Worm is a marine polychaete worm. It is found in various habitats, including rocky shores, mudflats, and sandy bottoms. The worm builds a thick, parchment-like tube in which it lives and from which it seldom emerges. The tube is often encrusted with sand and shell fragments. The worm has a large plume of tentacles which it uses for filter feeding, extending them from the top of the tube to catch plankton from the water.
