Description
Common ghost shrimp, also known as mud shrimp, is a marine decapod crustacean that inhabits burrows in soft sediments on the seafloor. They are usually around 5 cm long and have small claws. They are known for their burrowing behavior, creating complex tunnel systems. They feed on organic matter within the sediment.
