Description
The Common Frilled Shark is a primitive shark species known for its frilled appearance and eel-like body. It is found worldwide in depths of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, typically between 120 and 1,280 meters. It has a unique feeding method of lunging at prey like a snake. This species can be distinguished by its six pairs of long gill slits that run down the side of its body, giving it a 'frilled' appearance.
