Frilled and Cow Sharks [Hexanchiformes]

Description

Hexanchiformes include frilled and cow sharks, which are notable for their additional gill slits (six or seven compared to the usual five). These deep-water sharks have elongated bodies and are rarely encountered by humans. They feed on a variety of marine organisms.
