Chilean Round Stingray [Urobatis marmoratus]

Description
The Chilean Round Stingray, or Urobatis marmoratus, is a species of stingray in the family Urotrygonidae. It is found in the coastal waters of the southeastern Pacific Ocean, from Peru to southern Chile. This species inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms of shallow inshore waters and bays. It has a nearly circular pectoral fin disk, dark top coloration with a mottled pattern, and a slender tail with a serrated, venomous spine. This species reaches a maximum width of 30 cm. Its diet consists mainly of crustaceans, small fish, and marine worms.
