Cape Grenadier [Macruronus capensis]
Description
The Cape Grenadier, also known as Blue Grenadier, is a merlucciidae species found in the Southeast Atlantic and Southwest Indian Ocean. It dwells in the demersal, oceanic environment at a depth range from 220 - 1050 meters. This species is characterized by a long, slender body that tapers to a thin, pointed tail. The body color is typically bluish or silver. It feeds on small fish and squid, and it's known for its nocturnal feeding behavior.
