Californian anchovy [Engraulis mordax]
Description
The Californian anchovy is a small schooling fish that is native to the eastern Pacific Ocean. It is found from British Columbia, Canada to Baja California, Mexico. It is characterized by its green-blue back, silver-white sides and belly, and a large mouth that extends behind the eye.
