Calcisabella Luminosa [Calcisabella luminosa]

Description
Calcisabella luminosa is another species of Radiolarian, similar to C. spectra. It is found in the deeper regions of the ocean and maintains a bioluminescent nature. Unlike C. spectra, however, it displays a more vibrant, consistent glow, which is where it derives its name 'luminosa'. This Radiolarian feeds on smaller micro-organisms and is a vital part of the marine food chain.
