Description
Salmacina incrustans, or the Calcareous Tube Worm, is a species of marine polychaete worms known for their calcareous tubes. They are found in subtidal zones, commonly on rocks, shells, or hard substrates. The worm has a crown of tentacles used for feeding and respiration. The tentacles can be retracted into the tube when the animal senses danger.
