Brown butterfly slit limpet [Parmaphorella rustica]

Description
The Brown butterfly slit limpet is a species of sea snail. It has a brownish shell, often camouflaged with encrusting organisms. The shell is typically oval-shaped with a slit on one side. This species inhabits rocky substrates in the intertidal and subtidal zones in the Pacific Ocean, from British Columbia to California. Its diet consists mainly of algae.
