Bluntnose Stingray [Dasyatis say]
Description
The Bluntnose Stingray, known scientifically as Dasyatis say, is a species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae. It is found in the western Atlantic Ocean, from Massachusetts to Brazil. It prefers benthic habitats in shallow coastal waters, estuaries, and lagoons, often burying itself in sand or mud during the day. The Bluntnose Stingray has a diamond-shaped pectoral fin disk that is wider than long, a relatively short, whip-like tail, and a blunt snout.
