Bighead Grenadier [Macrourus holotrachys]
Description
The Bighead Grenadier is a deep-sea species found in the Southern Ocean, particularly around Antarctica. It inhabits depths of between 300 and 1,500 meters. It has a large, bulbous head, which gives it its common name, and a long tapering body. It is a relatively small species, reaching a maximum length of 60 cm.
