Australian Pilchard [Sardinops sagax neopilchardus]

Description

The Australian Pilchard is another subspecies of the Pacific Sardine. They are found in the waters around Australia and New Zealand. They are similar in appearance to other sardines, with a blue-green back and a silver belly. They feed primarily on plankton.
