Australian armored searobin [Xenocephalus australiensis]
Description
The Australian Armored searobin, scientifically known as Xenocephalus australiensis, is a marine species native to the Southeastern Indian Ocean, specifically off the coast of Western Australia. This species is predominantly found at depths of around 200 to 300 metres. It can reach up to 15 centimetres in length. Just like its cousin, it also feeds on small crustaceans and fish. It is distinctive for its armoured body and large pectoral fins.
