Arctic Thermobiote [Thermobiotes arcticus]
Description
Thermobiotes arcticus, or the Arctic thermobiote, is a marine worm species found in Arctic hydrothermal vents. They are accustomed to the extremely cold temperatures of the Arctic sea and can withstand the high pressure of the deep sea. These worms have a slender, elongated body and lack a digestive system, depending on their symbiotic bacteria for nutrition. The Arctic thermobiote is a unique species due to its adaptation to survive in one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
