Angelwing [Cyrtopleura costata]

Description
The Angelwing is a marine bivalve mollusk notable for its large, white, elongated shell that resembles the wings of an angel. This species prefers sandy or muddy substrates in which it can burrow. The shell is sculptured with costae, or ribs, which give it a distinct appearance. The Angelwing is typically found in the lower intertidal and shallow subtidal zones along the Atlantic coasts of North America.
