Alligator Pipefish [Syngnathoides biaculeatus]
Description
The Alligator Pipefish is a species of marine fish belonging to the family Syngnathidae. They can be found in the Red Sea and off the coast of East Africa to the Pacific Ocean. It is a benthic species usually found in seagrass beds, coral reefs, and estuaries. Males carry eggs in a brood pouch under the tail. The species is recognized by its elongated snout and brownish color with white bands.
